Housekeeper Team Member
A housekeeping team member at HSI shares in the responsibility to prepare, assist in cleaning, and prepare the facilities for guests. More detailed job requirements include:
Housekeeping staff will provide a beautiful, clean, and accommodating interior environment for groups when they arrive. This work includes:
Cleaning tasks such as: bathroom cleaning, laundry, dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash emptying, etc.
Making beds with provided linens and decorative material
Cleaning and resetting communal spaces in Farmhouse, Spirit House, and Studio
Housekeeping staff will help to support group work by setting spaces as requested by facilitators. This could include:
Rolling rugs in studio
Setting backjacks and seating in communal spaces
Housekeeping staff will perform frequent deep cleaning procedures on all spaces including organizing of frequently used spaces (yoga, art room, etc)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Upbeat, creative, and resourceful with the ability to effectively work with a wide range of personalities in a spiritual, community-oriented environment.
Organizational skills and ability to manage time well.
Desire to participate in a team-oriented work environment.
Communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing.
Ability to work with tight deadlines, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Ability to follow set procedures.
Ability to work flexible, at times intensive hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Balancing the demands of the job with personal health and wellness is essential.
Calm and composed – ability to talk with staff, guests, and volunteers in a polite and kind manner. Able to give and accept constructive feedback modestly and non-defensively.
Reports to: Executive Director
Collaborates With: Leadership Team, Maintenance Team, and at times Kitchen and Land Management Team as needed.
