Hope Springs Institute’s dedicated staff works to create a sacred space that holds our community on spiritual, physical, emotional, and sensory levels. We work together to ensure guests and program leaders have meaningful experiences that bring them back to Hope Springs year after year.

Kitchen Staff

HSI is currently seeking a qualified candidate (someone who loves to cook!) to join our Kitchen team. Hours vary between daytime, evening and weekends. Please contact us if you're interested in joining the team! 

Kitchen Team Member / Cook

A kitchen team member (cook) at HSI shares in the responsibility to prepare, cook, and serve meals and snacks to guests. Cleaning, sanitation, and proper food storage are also part of this position. More detailed job requirements include: 

  • Experience with batch cooking as well as cooking on a line.

  • Experience with the proper use of commercial kitchen equipment.

  • Experience with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free cooking. 

  • Experience handling and storing food properly and safely. Following FIFO protocols. 

  • Have a "clean as you go" work ethic.

  • Follow all Federal and State Health Department requirements.

  • Follow basic kitchen safety protocols.  Servesafe certified, preferred.


  • Upbeat, creative, and resourceful with the ability to effectively work with a wide range of personalities in a spiritual, community-oriented environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time well.

  • Desire to participate in a team-oriented work environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing.

  • Ability to work with tight deadlines, attention to detail, and accuracy.

  • Ability to follow set procedures.

  • Ability to work flexible, at times intensive hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Balancing the demands of the job with personal health and wellness is essential.

  • Calm and composed – ability to talk with staff, guests, and volunteers in a polite and kind manner. Able to give and accept constructive feedback modestly and non-defensively.
