Time & Location

Jan 06, 2023, 5:00 PM EST – Jan 08, 2023, 5:30 PM EST

About The Event

Even though our experiences of uncertainty are increasingly common, we are biologically challenged during such times, and this offering is an invitation to begin to build a framework of autonomy over those experiences.

A variety of tools and practices will be shared so you can experience them in a supportive community environment, and then take them home to use in your real life to be your best self.

Topics that will be covered include:

 • Dealing with triggers that send you into hyperarousal by learning to feel and name your sensations, adjust your    emotion-stories, and use tools to calm your nervous system

 • Evaluating your various entrainments to understand energy flows and how to balance what energizes and de-energizes you, as well as prioritize your commitments

 • Respecting differences among individuals through understanding preferred patterns of core needs and values as expressed through the core self, developed self, and contextual self

This weekend will include work using:

• Alexander Technique

• Free and Directed Movement

• Somatic Healing

• Essential MotivatorsTM

• Current Neuroscience Research Principles

• Circle and Small Group Reflection

• Journaling

• Practice with Self-Regulation and Other Tools

The goal of your weekend is a deeply experiential workshop, so your registration includes a Friday evening through Sunday afternoon experience at Hope Springs, as well as two Zoom sessions before your retreat weekend. The Zoom sessions will prepare you for your weekend by offering you an opportunity to ask questions, get to know other participants, and preview what will be covered. This will be followed by an invitation to stay connected after your weekend, such as through a virtual get-together. A continuation of the material is scheduled for June at Hope Springs.

Prerequisites

No prior workshop experience is necessary, and we encourage prior participants to return. This retreat is designed to accommodate those who might be new to this type of work, as well as those who would like to make it an annual practice for beginning their year.  Note: the facilitators will adjust the schedule and content as the workshop unfolds to meet the specific needs and interests of the group. This includes accommodations for participants with restricted movement or other special requests.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

Meg McCann is a teacher of Alexander Technique, reeducating people from their neuromuscular habits into better use of the self. Her background as an ICU nurse and Finance Executive working with large teams supports her ability to impact others in the work of self-development. Recognizing that interruption of habits is no easy task, she enjoys seeing the success of her clients as they improve themselves into new arenas.

Rebecca Sarver, PhD is an independent consultant offering alternative approaches to escape from practices keeping people where they are instead of where they want to go. She relishes opportunities to leverage her career in the private sector with post-doctoral research and training to uncover options with clients to manage uncertainty and improve decision-making in increasingly complex times. Recent training includes Art of Developmental Coaching, Healing Collective Trauma, and Neuroscience of Change. Her mission is to cultivate self-leadership with individuals who can then positively influence their own networks.

Diane Rumpke is a workshop facilitator for those seeking change in their lives, introducing them to entrainment, an exciting, ever-emerging realm of research. Her background working in various fields of entrainment combined with her kinesiology and chemistry education enables her to share her knowledge in tangible ways participants can leverage for big results. She has recently completed courses in Power of Embodied Transformation, Neuroscience of Change and Body=Brain, and this work has been a constant thrill for her on her journey to "do something more" by being a part of something bigger than herself.
