Healing Through the Reset: A Guided Opportunity to Learn Through Your Covid Experience
Time & Location
About The Event
If you’ve ever done a New Year’s resolution you’ve experienced the difficulty of change. With the best of intentions we outline, we commit, and sometimes succeed. Oftentimes we don’t. It’s not our fault, it’s quite difficult to modify our habits. It’s even more complicated when we are surrounded by our communities (family, friends, coworkers, even pets) because we live in sync with all of them and these rhythms resist change! This is the theory of Entrainment, a physical force of nature that all things experience.
The Covid-19 pandemic has widely interrupted life and our connections as we’ve known them. Once an interruption of this magnitude has been experienced we can expect significant changes to our society. This is broadly known as The Reset – the old way has been paused and, while life will return to normal, it will be in a new normal from the old normal.
This is a perfect opportunity to choose change. Our connections, or entrainments are different now, and many of them aren’t as strong as a year ago. We now have an opportunity to choose our new normal, to make use of this interruption to evaluate what we have lost (or missed), but also what we’ve appreciated about the change. Once we can identify these elements we can grieve, celebrate, and prioritize for reentry into the new normal.
Join Diane, Rebecca, and Meg in this DONATION-BASED workshop series as they bring information and exercises based on the principles of Interpersonal Entrainment, Temperament, and Polyvagal System. They will lead the online group through recollection, identification, and steps to assist in this prioritizing process. You’ll hear more about entrainments, and how to discern positive versus negative impacts of entrainment. We will provide time and structure to identify and grieve losses experienced. There will be perspective from the Temperament work on why certain losses matter more to you than to others. And, most importantly, you’ll receive steps to assist in gaining a more satisfying life after Covid, creating a better new normal.
About your Healing Through the Reset Leaders:
Diane Rumpke is a workshop facilitator for those seeking change in their lives, introducing them to entrainment, an exciting, ever-emerging realm of research. Her background working in various fields of entrainment combined with her kinesiology and chemistry education enables her to share her knowledge in tangible ways participants can leverage for big results. This work has been a constant thrill for her on her journey to "do something more" by being a part of something bigger than herself.
Rebecca Sarver, PhD is an independent consultant offering alternative approaches to escape from practices keeping people where they are instead of where they want to go. She relishes opportunities to leverage her career in the private sector with post-doctoral research and training to uncover options with clients to manage uncertainty and improve decision-making in increasingly complex times. Her mission is to cultivate self-leadership with individuals who can then positively influence their own networks.
Meg McCann is a teacher of Alexander Technique, reeducating people from their neuromuscular habits into better use of the self. Her background as an ICU nurse and Finance Executive working with large teams supports her ability to impact others in the work of self-development. Recognizing that interruption of habits is no easy task, she enjoys seeing the success of her clients as they improve themselves into new arenas.
