….. I had never been to a yoga workshop and wasn't sure what to expect. After two days of in-depth work with John and Betty, I can't wait for my next workshop

….Betty and John are extraordinary yoga teachers.  They provide in-depth instruction in the fine and subtle art of asana…..adeptly guide multi-level students through serious, personally challenging, in-depth and yet, playful session…teaching in the moment with compassion, humor and grace from their collective reservoir of deep understanding and personal experience.  Weaving philosophy, pranayama, and chanting, along with a humbly sharing of their personal journeys, they are a powerful example of ‘living yoga’

Louisville KY

Asana Sessions will include a variety of yoga poses taught using a precision alignment approach emphasizing correct anatomical postural alignment while building strength and flexibility. Props will be used to assist everyone in doing the postures correctly.

Pranayama is the art of breath manipulation and energy balance using a variety of breathing techniques.  These sessions will focus on understanding the basics of yogic breathing and practicing correctly.  The sessions are appropriate for those who are completely new to pranayama as well as those who practice regularly.

Yoga Nidra, is translated literally, "Yogic Sleep".  It is an ancient form of meditation that will take you into the deepest levels of relaxation while still remaining fully aware.  In Yoga Nidra, shifts arise from consciousness which exists beyond the confines of he intellect.  Classical yoga chants using shurti sound and tabla drums contribute to reaching this deep relaxation.

Yoga Philosophy sessions will include an overview of yoga philosophy, as well as, a lecture and discussion about the application of yoga philosophy to modern day living through mindfulness practices.
