Affectionately know as "The Ladies"
The Ladies represent the cycle of life of all humans. They are eight in number and when you enter the circle, you become the ninth. All of us, women and men, experience all these stages of life again and again. This is one interpretation. You will have your own experience and interpretation when you enter the circle.
The Newborn
The Blossoming One
The Virgin
The Newborn "Lady" represents that phase of new beginning and total vulnerability. She is full of softness which any newborn needs and craves, soft wool, tiny feathers and nests. We often put fresh lavender on the table in front of her.
The Blossoming One is the stage of coming into our ripeness, our full flowering with the excitement of new maturity. Everything is possible. She is fully out in all her young beauty and confidence.
The Virgin is the stage of partnering with another, a stage of give and take, a loss of innocence, a coming to know the price of union as well as the gift of merging. She has softness and hard edges.

The Wreck
The Lady of the Milagros
The Wreck is fragile and ready to move on her next rebirth. She accepts the stark truth. Her body is breaking down and she is getting ready to leave.
The Lady of the Milagros realizes that she needs help from someone or something greater than her. This may be a group, an ancestor, the divine. She asks for help. The Milagros symbolizes his request of the "Other" for healing.

The Hag
The Queen Mother
The Enlightened One
The Hag is ready to get down to the bare bones of who we are. We begin to lighten our load, leave behind what is not essential and focus on our essence, the core of our life's work.
The Queen Mother has real maturity that comes with age, experience and resilience. She knows her internal and external beauty and rallies all her gifts to make a difference in the world.
The Enlightened One reminds us that sometimes we just need to wait for the answers to come. She provides a place to sit and wait until we know our own internal strength.
